Projects

Round 3

Round 3 of the Smart Water Fund was offered in 2005 with 29 projects successfully receiving funding.

From Round 3 onwards the Smart Water Fund offered funding under two distinct streams:

  1. Targeted research & development
  2. Open innovation (Metro and Regional Victoria)

Stream 1 funding was offered to research institutions such as Universities, Cooperative Research Centres and research consultants to pursue areas of research deemed to be of critical importance to the water industry.

Stream 2 funding was open to any individual, group or organisation with an innovative project in the area of water conservation, water recycling or biosolids management.

The Victorian Government, through the Department of Sustainability and Environment joined as a funding partner in Round 3 to allow the Smart Water Fund to incorporate projects from regional Victoria.

The total amount of funding invested in Round 3 was $5 million dollars and was offered to any organisation, community group or individual in metropolitan and regional urban Victoria to conduct an innovative water management project.
