Smart Water Fund Round 7

Application period now closed

The application period for Smart Water Fund Round 7 is now closed and applications received by the closing date of 20 November 2009 are now being assessed. As a general guide the assessment period takes approximately 3 months to complete and successful applicants will be notified in mid to late March 2010.

$2 million available for innovative water projects

The Smart Water Fund seeks project submissions for innovative sustainable water use projects that focus on the areas of water conservation, water recycling and / or biosolids management.

The aim of the Fund is to provide support to organisations or individuals with innovative new ideas about water management that can act as demonstrations for others to follow and implement more broadly. For examples of previous funded projects visit the Project Knowledge Hub.

Funding available under Round 7 is open to any individual, community group, commercial enterprise or professional research body that is equipped with the skills to implement the proposed project.

The funding application period was open from Tuesday 29 September 2009 until Friday 20 November 2009.

  • Applications are required to be submitted in both electronic format (on CD or USB device) and printed hardcopy
  • Applications will be assessed on a project by project basis and applications delivering the highest level of innovation and return on investment will be prioritised
  • Funding from other sources is accepted and encouraged
